On Sunday 18 August, Edgbaston Park Hotel was buzzing with excitement as we hosted a Family Fun Day in support of St Basils.
The day was a huge success, filled with laughter, fun, and community spirit, all while raising awareness and funds for this incredible cause.
A year of giving back
Our Volunteering Committee has been hard at work throughout the year, organising various initiatives to support St Basils. From food donation drives to our Graduation Week initiative, where we donated to the charity every time a University of Birmingham graduate stayed or dined at the hotel, we’re committed to making a difference. Through the Graduation Week initiative alone, we raised over £1,000, and the Family Fun Day was the cherry on top.
Family Fun Day highlights
The Family Fun Day truly pulled out all the stops. We invited all our Edgbaston Park Hotel team members, along with their families and friends, to join in the fun at Hornton Grange. Here’s a glimpse of what made the day so special:
- No summer event is complete without an ice cream van. Guests of all ages enjoyed sweet treats from our ice cream van, which was a hit throughout the day.
- We went all out with inflatables from Jag Bouncy Castles, featuring an exciting assortment of activities. The assault course, combi slide, medium soft play, sports arena football, and jungle activity park kept everyone entertained for hours.
- Froggles Parties provided fantastic kids’ entertainment, bringing smiles and laughter to our youngest guests. From magic shows to balloon modelling, the children were captivated from start to finish.
- Class 1 DJs kept the atmosphere lively with a great mix of tunes, ensuring the energy stayed high throughout the day.
- Our raffle was another highlight, with some amazing prizes up for grabs. The generous contributions from local businesses made it an exciting part of the day, with all proceeds going directly to St Basils.
Making a difference together
Our Family Fun Day was more than just a day of fun, it was a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together for a good cause. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to support St Basils and contribute to the important work they do in helping young people facing homelessness. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we have now raised over £1,600 for St Basils, helping to make a significant impact on the lives of young people facing homelessness.
We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and donated. Your support made this day a huge success, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
