Conferences & Events

Let our experts help bring your next event to life here.

From stylish suites to historical houses, we have a wide variety of flexible, well-equipped spaces to host conferences, team building away days, drinks parties, and private meetings.

Just two miles outside Birmingham city centre and on University of Birmingham’s leafy Edgbaston campus, we offer some of the best hotel conference rooms in Birmingham – all outside the city’s chargeable Clean Air Zone.

Fry Suite

The largest of our meeting rooms, the Fry Suite oozes contemporary cool and versatility. With subtle hues and ample space, it can easily be transformed to suit any conference or event.

Located on the ground floor of the hotel, the Fry Suite is fully accessible and perfectly positioned to help you make the most of our amenities. Next door you’ll find the Fry Lounge, a  comfy space for delegates to unwind during breaks and tuck into our delicious event menus. Plush bedrooms await just moments away too, where your delegates can enjoy a great night’s sleep.

The Fry Suite is named after celebrated prison reformer, Margery Fry, who worked at Birmingham University as Warden of University House – the new women’s residence – in 1904.

Lloyd Suite

If you want to add some historical charm to your conference or event, look no further than the Lloyd Suite. Set apart from the main hotel building in our beautiful 1920s Hornton Grange, the suite has been designed to give you extra event privacy.

As well as benefiting from the suite’s relaxed and airy atmosphere, you’ll also have exclusive use of the ground floor of Hornton Grange. This includes a private lounge, ideal for breakout sessions and networking. You can also enjoy views across the Grange’s gardens and patio areas; you and your delegates can pop out here at any time for a breath of fresh air.

The suite takes its name from University of Birmingham’s own Dame Hilda Lloyd, Professor of Obstetrics, whose pioneering midwife ‘flying squads’ saved many lives in the 1930s.
